Migrating the old Etsin’s datasets into the new Etsin (etsin.fairdata.fi) was completed on 28th June and if needed, the migrated datasets can be now be modified with the Qvain Research Dataset Metadata Tool (qvain.fairdata.fi). Thereafter Qvain is also available for creating new datasets. With Qvain, it’s possible to create a dataset description which includes files stored the IDA Research Data Storage Service or links to remote resources. NOTE! The more simple version of Qvain – Qvain Light – will be available for users in August 2019. It provides a more simple way to create datasets. The datasets created with Qvain can be modified also with Qvain Light.
The old Etsin (etsin.avointiede.fi) is still in production in a read-only state. It’s no longer possible to create or modify datasets with the old Etsin, but they’re still available for browsing. The old Etsin is planned to be closed by the end of 2019.
